"Without a vision,
the people perish" (KJV). How often have we
heard this sentence used in sermons. And yet
how true this statement is to the life of any
church. God's people need a statement of
vision to clarify in black and white on paper the
marching orders and overall perspective we have
received from God for us to achieve our part of His
Kingdom work.
For EBC, our vision
is to be "Christ-centered". Everything that we
do is to have Jesus Christ as our focus as well as
our Source. He alone is to attain the glory
for what we do. His word is to be the sole
director of our steps and methods. Only as we
purposefully follow this path of
"Christ-centeredness" can we hope of gaining true
success in attaining this vision He has set in our
hearts to achieve.
Through the worship
of God and obedient acts of service we will impact
the lives of people in our church, community
and around world. We will be "salt" and
"light" as commanded by Jesus.
